Job Description
The pharmacist provides routine and emergency comprehensive and accurate drug screening, information, processing, and dispensing services for various drug distribution systems to the centers. Management skills and accuracy are required to ensure that the appropriate drug product reaches the customer efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities: Meet/exceed site budgets. Leverage operating policies, procedures and process to ensure operational excellence (5 Rs). Optimize cost management in line with script counts. In coordination with the General Manager, serve as primary owner for Band III accounts, and facility owner for Band I and II accounts in assigned geography. Drive organic growth and mitigate risk with existing customer relationships. Negotiate and finalize customer contracts in collaboration with appropriate regional leadership. Collaborate with Sales to drive deal closures and organic growth. Collaborate with Account Management, Sales, Consultant Pharmacists and appropriate corporate functions to meet overall site goals and objectives. Evaluate the overall results of operations; regularly and systematically report the results to the GM and/or VPO. Ensure that all organization activities and operations are executed in compliance with state and/or federal regulations and laws governing financial and pharmacy operations. Ensure the privacy, confidentiality, and security of patient information and property. Have a thorough understanding of the Customer Pharmacy Services policy and procedure manual. Have a thorough understanding of the Omnicare Long Term Care Pharmacy/Home Infusion Pharmacy Policy and Procedure Manual and internal pharmacy policies and procedures. Complete other projects and responsibilities as assigned by the VPO, GM or Omnicare management. Management Responsibilities: Responsible for providing employees with timely, candid and constructive feedback; developing employees to their full potential and providing challenging opportunities that enhance employee career growth; developing the appropriate talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning; recognizing and rewarding employees for accomplishments. Physical Demands: May sit, stand, stoop, bend and walk intermittently during the day. May sit or stand seven (7) to ten (10) hours per day. Qualification

- Experience: Minimum (Required) Qualifications: (must be met in order to perform the job at the required level) Current license to practice pharmacy in good standing Proficient in the area of clinical interpretation: drug-drug, drug-disease, drug-food interactions and allergies Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language Excellent interpersonal skills and well-developed verbal and written communication skills Perform accurately and efficiently when dispensing prescription medications Ability to work flexible hours, which may include evening, weekends, and holidays Preferred Qualifications: (if above and beyond the minimum required) Knowledgeable about long term care regulations (OBRA, OSHA, state laws and other federal laws) that have an impact upon both pharmacy and Center operations preferred
