Job Title: Light Industrial - Equipment Operator I

Job Location : 58 Pickett District Road, New Milford, CT  06776

Pay Rate: $21-22/HR on W2

Start/End Dates: 7/29/2024 - 7/28/2025

Shift Hours: 7am-3pm, Monday- Friday

 

Job Description:
  • Must be comfortable driving a forklift and performing shrink wrapping duties.
  • Steel toed shoes required.

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • (DOOR OPERATOR, INTERNAL MOVER, LINE OPERATOR, MULTI-PACK TRUCKING, HARD ROLL WRAPPING & LOADING, CONSOLIDATE & OFFLINE WORK STATION)

 
  1. Work and communicate with team members when performing any assigned work task.
  2. Maintain both productivity and quality performance standards while performing all work tasks.
  3. Perform work safely and support activities to ensure continued safety improvements, take responsibility to keep coworkers safe.
  4. Maintain both accuracy and completeness on all required paperwork.
  5. Follow all WMS/ procedures for the recording and tracking of product to insure inventory accuracy.
  6. Maintain housekeeping standards for both work area and department.
  7. Maintain safe operating procedures for all equipment required to perform work tasks.
  8. Follow all proper lifting procedures.

 

JOB TASK EXPECTATIONS:

 

Training:
  • Needs to successfully complete checker training and perform the job during certification with productivity and quality (error rate) results that at least meet department expectations. This includes all types of loading methods.

 

Loading and unloading finished product.
  • Follows Sharp Guidelines.
  • Loads and unloads product with productivity and quality that meets department standards.
  • Stores product safely, without damage, and according to established department practices. Consistently completes all required loading and unloading paperwork correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Understands and follows special circumstance expectations, e.g. lot control unloads, wet damage claims, returns.
  • Follows all WMS procedures (loading/unloading/damage etc.)

 

Operate workstations (OLWS) - Produce palletized products.
  • Operates equipment safely and with a full knowledge of quality expectations. Any potentially serious operational issues (e.g. safety, equipment, quality, etc.) are communicated to Leadership.
  • Asks questions when unsure of expectations, e.g. quality specs.
  • Produces product at standard rates of operation.
  • Does not allow work to expand to fill time allotted; asks for more direction.
  • Exhibits flexibility and thoroughness in ability to work on different machines with multiple product specs.
  • Follows all housekeeping procedures.

 

Consolidate bays, forward stage product, and perform other warehouse support functions.
  • Ability to accomplish warehouse support functions with one-time work direction and little, or no, supervision.
  • Follows all WMS procedures.
  • Follows storage practices that meet department standards.
  • Does not allow work to expand to fill time allotted. Asks for more direction when necessary.
  • Follows all housekeeping procedures.

 

Remove and Store Product from Output Lines Stores product at standard rates of operation.
  • Asks questions when unsure of expectations, e.g. quality specs.
  • Exhibits flexibility and thoroughness in ability to work on different output locations.
  • Alerts team leadership to any potentially serious operational issues (e.g. quality, equipment, safety, etc.) Follows all housekeeping procedures.

 

Work safely; identify and resolve safety issues.
  • Always follows safety procedures.
  • Exhibits safe behaviors in all aspects of his/her job, i.e. thinks before he/she acts, uses PPE, locks equipment out, watches out for co-workers, take two, cut no corners, get help when needed.
  • Use EtQ for Hazard ID/Awareness and Mi CASA Task Observations

 
  • Demonstrate a consistent ability to get to work on time and with minimal call-in’s Less than 4 occurrences in any 12-month period as defined by department guidelines.
  • Calls in prior to beginning of shift if late or absent.

Essential Physical Demands of a Paddle Tractor Operator:
  1. Climb/dismount tractor cab - height of 48” - 52” by stepping onto an 18-inch step. Hand supports available for balancing and assistance - 3 to 10 times per hour for a 12-hour shift.
  2. Ability to shift in tractor cab seat from forward position to right or left trunk position. Driving 50% forward position, 50% backward position.
  3. Ability to turn to view objects directly behind tractor cab.
  4. Ability to turn steering wheel one full revolution to the right and left without restriction.
  5. Ability to reach and actuate foot pedal continuously. (both feet) 6. Ability to reach and actuate hand controls continuously. (right hand) 7. Ability to reach and activate hand scanner continuously. (right hand) Essential Psychological, Situational or Functional Factors:
  1. Speed, consistency and accuracy in tasks, meeting precise tolerances and standards.
  2. Interpersonal skills sufficient to work closely with others on a team.
  3. Ability to demonstrate flexibility in work environment, performing a variety of frequently changing tasks.

  7. Ability to read and comprehend all types of paperwork, instructions, product codes and RFT screens.
  8. Ability to perform basic math computations to verify grab counts when picking, assembling, loading, unloading, replenishing and consolidating product.
  9. Ability to plan and organize work task process in order to perform within department standards.
  10. Ability to demonstrate initiative by being a self-starter and maintaining this discipline throughout the entire work process.

 

Work Environment:
  • Working inside warehouse / comfortable working temperatures winter / summer Can drive tractor forward if vision not obscured / required to drive backwards when vision is obscured
