- Our Traction Drives business in Alpharetta, GA, is looking to hire an Industrial Painter to operate and monitor painting machines to paint surfaces of equipment (rail gears/motor casings). We ensure that standards are met and may need to work directly with supervisors or engineers to resolve any production issues.
- What your day-to-day will look like:
- Mix paints to match specifications, stirring or thinning paints, and using spatulas or power mixing equipment.
- Appropriately dispose of hazardous waste.
- Remove grease, dirt, paint, or rust from vehicle surfaces in preparation for paint application, using abrasives, solvents, brushes, blowtorches, washing tanks, or sandblasters.
- Monitor painting operations to identify flaws, such as blisters or streaks, and correct their causes.
- Remove accessories from equipment and mask surfaces with tape or paper to protect them from paint as required.
- Disassemble, clean, and reassemble sprayers or power equipment using solvents, wire brushes, and cloths.
- Conduct 6S audits and safety walks.
- For your safety, we require the following:
- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics, and their applications.
- Knowledge of environmental health and safety regulations and procedures.
- Knowledge of product, quality standards, and assembly procedures.
- Basic knowledge of computer software applications.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for improving the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Use machines, power and hand tools, including their designs, repair, and operator-level maintenance. This equipment will include exhaust units, respirators, robotic paint equipment, cranes, and hoist equipment
- Lean Manufacturing – Knowledge of basic lean principles and techniques for optimizing processes and eliminating waste.
- HS diploma or equivalent required
- Must be able to pass a basic painting skills test successfully.
