The Mechanical Design Engineer will support the Mechanical Systems team by reviewing and approving spare part drawings and parts lists, coordinating with suppliers and procurement, and assisting with technical documentation. This role contributes to the creation of technical specifications, document control, and defining 3D modeling instructions for drafting teams while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and engineering standards across projects.
Key Responsibilities
Review and approve supplier submittals related to spare parts, drawings, and parts lists.
Develop, update, and maintain technical specifications and engineering documentation.
Create, issue, and track D-Specs (3D modeling instructions) for drafting teams.
Perform document control, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.
Review internal and external engineering documents for accuracy and completeness.
Support Mechanical Systems Engineers with overflow and ad hoc engineering tasks.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement and suppliers.
Provide general engineering and departmental support as required.
Qualifications
Technical degree or equivalent mechanical engineering background.
3–5 years of relevant mechanical or design engineering experience.
Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling, engineering drawings, and BOM/parts list management.
Experience with supplier coordination, submittal reviews, and technical documentation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a global engineering team.
