Auto Repair Service Advisor

Job Description :

If you are looking for a career with the opportunity to make a difference, this is your opportunity to join a family owned business who is dedicated to auto, truck and equipment service.   In this role you will be responsible for vehicle management and service delivery.  A variety of duties may include a mix of work on vehicles, collecting customer information, logging the process of repair for billing and explaining that process of repair to the customer.

Schedule / Shift:  12pm – 8pm, M-F

            (Various Duties 12-5pm)

            (Service Writer 5-8pm)



  • Customer Service – meet and greet customers in person or on the phone

  • Ability to communicate with employees & customers and keep everyone on the same page

  • Understands customers situation and vehicle needs and provides accurate advice on best repair options

  • Manages delivery of required repair action by successfully setting and managing customer expectations

  • Customer pick up / delivery

  • Light duty maintenance (jump starts, oil changes, rotate tires, etc)

  • Shop maintenance and cleaning

  • Ability to meet and exceed goals/expectations

  • Maintains documentation, including PO, invoices, work orders, reports, etc

  • Takes 'ownership' and accepts accountability for delivering outstanding service levels



  • Potential Monthly Commission (based on the shop's gross profit of the previous month)

Required Qualifications :

  • Driver’s License

  • HS Diploma or equivalent

  • Experience in the Auto Industry – min 1yr experience in service writing and/ or repairing vehicles

  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic positive attitude and strong work ethic

  • Professional, collaborative team-player, results-oriented, and reliable

  • Customer service focused

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to think on feet, problem solving, time-management, critical thinking

  • Proficient with computer/technology and general office equipment (printers, fax, phones)

  • Professional appearance
