CNC Programmer

In this role you will Produce machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine.

  • Creates instructions for machinists

  • Review 3D CAD design blueprints

  • Make calculations for programming including where materials should be cut

  • Translate instructions into a computer automated manufacturing (CAM) program

  • Communicate with engineers and clients who will use the programs

  • Verify / Check completed programs by running simulations or tests

  • Prepare geometric layout of designs using proper software

  • Determines sequence of operations in a program

  • Analyze job order and performs necessary calculations

  • Write programs and modify existing ones

  • Analyze and select speeds and cutting tools for programs

  • Make improvements to set up times for a task and contouring of complex shapes

  • Simplify tooling time for workers and increases productivity for the client

  • Evaluate all completed designs to validate their functions and ensure they successfully reduce time and money for the client

  • Monitor all programs to make sure they follow blueprint instructions

  • Provide training for clients on automated systems


Schedule:  1st Shift, 7am – 4pm, M-F, OT as needed

Salary:  $25+/ hr DOE

Required Qualifications :

  • High School diploma or equivalent – Required!

  • Associate’s degree in CNC programming, a computer-related field or a mechanical field – A Plus!

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer programming or computer-related field – A Plus!

  • 3+ years of experience w/ CNC programming – Required!

  • Previous experience using GibbsCAM CNC Software – 3D Systems- A Plus!

  • Certification from accredited technical school – A Plus!

  • Previous knowledge and experience with electronics and machine tools

  • 3+ years of experience w/ CNC programming – Required!

  • Continuing education to learn new techniques as they emerge – A Plus!

  • Certification from accredited technical school

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Problem solver and detailed oriented and good organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently

  • Must be mechanically inclined
