Product Development Scientist

Job Description :
Great Opportunity to work with a national food company in a product development role. 

Job Overview:
• Utilize chemistry, food science and/or engineering knowledge to study the principles underlying the processing of foods; and apply food science knowledge to determine best ways to process, package, preserve, store, and distribute food.
• Conduct food science research with a focus on leading the research and development of technical projects for the company. This will include formulation, process development, scale-up and plant start-ups.
Required Qualifications :
• Use knowledge of chemistry and food science food product commercialization from concept through implementation, including designing and developing new products and improvements to existing products from initial idea to finished product, including employing an understanding of financial implications, technical specifications, food regulatory requirements, and innovative prototyping.
• Apply ingredient functionality and processing knowledge.
• Ability to work with cross-functional team members including Marketing, Consumer Insights, Supply Chain, Sourcing, Logistics and Sales.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in: Food Science, Food Process Engineering or Chemical Engineering. 3+ years of experience in food science, food product development or related field.
