QC Chemist

Job Description :

Our client is a recognized global industry leader in the development, manufacturing, and packaging of effervescent and non-effervescent compressible tablets and powders. 

They have an opportunity for a QC Chemist.  The duties are as follows, but not limited to: 

  • Perform wet chemistry test procedures

  • Perform physical tests on finished product and raw materials

  • Analyzes materials using Titrators, balances, FTIR, UV and other supporting instrumentation

  • Analysis of materials by HPLC using Water’s Empower CDS

  • Reads, reviews and document Test Methods and Standard Operating Procedures

  • Reviews and updates material specifications and test forms

  • Reviews and Revise laboratory data

  • Notifies QC Management of issues as they occur

  • Lead laboratory and inspection investigations

  • Supports Hazardous Waste program for the laboratory

  • Performs in-coming inspection of materials and components

  • Samples in-coming materials for Quality Control testing

  • Performs physical release of raw materials and packaging components

  • Washes laboratory glassware

  • Assists with Stability Study initiation and pulls

  • Supports cross functional tasks

  • Supports metrology, facilities, and outside vendors with scheduling and execution of instrument maintenance/calibrations

  • Supports the vendor qualification program

  • Coordinates and maintains external testing of materials and products

  • Assess systems, documentation, and processes for efficiencies and compliance

  • Perform other duties as assigned


Salary:  $24-$31/ HR DOE (Temp/ Contract)

Shift:  M-F, 40hrs, core hours 7am-5pm – some flexibility


Required Qualifications :

  • B.S. in Chemistry or other Science related field w/ 5+ years’ experience in Nutritional Supplement or Pharmaceutical Industry

 Experience / Skills / Abilities

  • Previous experience working in the Cosmetic Industry – A Plus!

  • Previous experience working in a team in a manufacturing environment

  • Proficient working with HPLC chromatographic system

  • Knowledge of Waters Empower Chromatography data system

  • Understands basic chromatography and instrument maintenance

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of cGMPs and other applicable compliance requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to resolve issues with co-workers or customers to reach mutually acceptable outcomes

  • Proficient with the MS Office – Word / Excel / Outlook, etc

  • Proficient with statistical mathematical calculations

  • Comfortable using calculator, spreadsheets, and other statistical programs

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to adhere to deadlines
